The Driver

Simon collecting the Yorke Trophy, 2010
Simon began racing about 10 years ago. His first car was an Audi S2 4×4 modified production car. This was developed by Mark Hardy to produce approx 650bhp @ 8500rpm. The chassis and body were extensively modified by John Hansell.
He competed locally with this car and won many class records including in 2004 being the overall winner of the Harewood Hill Championship. During the season he achieved a new class record and the car was the only production car to go over 100mph through the speed trap. He still holds the record for that class 6 years on.

In 2005 / 2006, the familiar Audi TT V8 was built and developed to run in the British Sprint Championship. The British Sprint Championship runs events all over the country. Simon and the car hold about æ of the Sports Libre records as well as a more local sprint and hillclimb records.
He was runner up in 2007 Sports Libre British Sprint and went on to win the title in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
He also came third in the Britannia Cup, which is a championship for everyone to compete against their own class records
