Just before Christmas, the engine instal was finally complete and the rebuild unit ran for the first time in it’s new chassis. Here’s a few grabbed pictures and video of the car running on Automarks’s rolling road as we set basic parameters in the mapping and made sure that everything was leak free and up to temperature.
The engine is the same base unit carried over from our previous car. The twin turbo Audi V8 has been trouble free and with Automark’s modifications has produced excellent power. Newly overhauled and with some improvements to airflow through the radiators and intercoolers designed by John Hansell of Fiber Lyte, we’re confident we can produce even more power once everything is dialled in.
The car’s now back in the build shop. Next time you see it, we’ll be at a track somewhere in the British winter, shaking it down in preparation for some serious pre-testing. Here’s a quick, ‘from the hip’ video of the car.
